What the Organic Acids Test Revealed: A Mother’s Journey

When my son’s sensitivities began affecting his digestion, behavior, and energy, I searched for answers beyond surface symptoms. That’s when I discovered the Organic Acids Test (OAT)—a gentle, non-invasive urine test that looks at metabolic markers, gut bacteria, and nutrient processing.

Why I Chose the OAT:

  • It’s child-friendly—just a urine sample

  • It reveals bacterial imbalances like Clostridia and yeast overgrowth, bacteria etc

  • It helps guide supplement choices based on real data

One marker stood out: Clostridia overgrowth. Everything on this test was red, I almost fainted because I knew my baby was in trouble and I did know what to do like most of mothers at first.

I cried for few days, then I put myself together to understand the meaning of everything since I could not afford a professional to do it for me and now after few years, I can close my eyes and explain this test.

And that’s when a memory resurfaced…

A Clue from the Past: Our 2020 Experience

In the middle of the pandemic, my son developed sudden, relentless diarrhea and a high fever. I called our family doctor, who gently suggested we test for COVID. The result came back negative.

The symptoms lasted two weeks. Then, they stopped no diagnosis. No clear answers. Nothing happened after life continued.

Later, I learned that Clostridia—especially C. difficile—can present this way .The OAT didn’t just give us data. It gave us context. It helped me connect the dots between past symptoms and present healing.

What This Means for Us

As a mother, I didn’t rush into protocols. I observed, researched, and chose gentle steps that felt aligned. I focused on foods that support gut health, and supplements that didn’t overwhelm his system.

This isn’t medical advice—just part of our healing journey. If you’re exploring gut health, trust your rhythm. Ask questions. And know you’re not alone.

Beautiful, Diane. Your blog draft is already resonant and clear. Here’s how you can gently close that Clostridia section with your voice and intent:
